Artist trading cards that I've made:

Artist Trading Cards

Writing is not a lost art, it has just evolved into picture words with cleverly designed, artistic 'love notes' if you will, as artist trading cards (ATC).

This is an 'internet evolved' art form that has really grown and become popular through groups and artists online.

ATC's are to be traded, not sold. They are very reminiscent of 3D valentines with trading card appeal.

As original works of art, they are often derived from several mediums and techniques including ideas taken from scrapbooking and sewing. The only requirement is that they be 2.5 x 3.5" in size.

The cards can be embellished any number of ways from riveting, beading, stitching, decoupage, fibers, cloth, buttons, do-dads, metallic paint, glitter, newsprint, etc... just about anything you can imagine. And, they are addictive.

How to Get Started

You only have to make some cards and join an online or local group to get started. You can make single cards to trade, make a set of duplicate cards, or a series of 'themed cards'. Then get in on a swap. It's totally up to you.
